Historic Town Paonta Sahib
The tenth sikh guru Gobind Singh gi Setteled at the bank of Yamuna at Paonta Sahib, He spent a period of forum and half years at Paonta Sahib. Guru Govind Singh Ji held the Durbar of 52 poets on the bank of Yamuna
Paonta Sahib is a historic cultural and a developing city a gave an impetus continuesly to literary and cultural activities through settling at this place. He also deputed some schollars to Varanasi for learning Sanskrit. Besides holding the darbar of 52 poets year, Several granths were also translated here. It is said that Ajeet Singh, His elder son was born here. Guru Govind Singh visited Nahan on 17th Baisakh Samvat, 1742 that is 1675 A.D. at the invitation of Raja Maidni Prakash of Nahan and lead the foundation stone of Paonta Sahib on the makar sankranth day of samvat 1742.
Guru Govind Singh had to fight his first battel in 1689 A.D. at Bhagani Sahib at some distance of this place. The morchas were setup on 16th Baisakh Samvat 1646 and laid a sieze of the routes of the enemy kings. The cause of this battle is mentioned as that the Raja Fateh Singh of Shrinagar invited Guru Govind Singh in Paonta to Grace the occasion of the marrige of his daughter. Guru Ji sent some presents through a messenger to Shrinagar
The king of Bilaspur was going to Shrinagar through Paonta Sahib. Such a huge army could cause damage to the person and property at residdence of Guru Ji . Therefore this route are was sealed. But subsequently the bridegroom and some family members were allowed to cross the boundry. Reaching Shrinagar Bhim Chand asked Fateh Shah to return the presents and gifts of Guru Ji as he was the enemy, Fateh Shah had to comply with the others if the his ward's father in law, the cleavage given so much so that the Guru Ji had to seal the way of these kings at Bhagani Sahib. The chief warriors of Guru Ji at that time were Gang Shah, Nand Chand,Mahi Chand, Kripal Chand, Guru ji has narrated this episod in his composition viz Bichitra Natak which implies that the enemies fled from the battle field. All were terrorstricken. I gained victory therein. It's all due to grace of the lord (Akal Purkh).

Through display and high lighting the folk music and folk dances of the area at an attractive places, we can add adequately to the flow of tourists. We can also avail ourselves of the expirence like "places on Wheels" in Rajasthan, the similar experiment can also be made use of in sirmour to enhance the propensities of cultural touris. The Tourists can also enjoy the mirth of the fairs of magh samkranti and vissu.
in order to provide a boost to adventurous tourism, Churdhar and Haripur Dhar can well Be Exploited for trekking due to their heights being 12,000 feet and 9,000 feet rspectivly. They are the temples of churehwar Mahadev in ChurDhar and of Bhanggyan Devi in Haripur Dhar.
